Sore Hand

| | Comments (5)
My hand has been bugging me recently. Specifically my middle finger on my right hand. All day it is fine, but each morning after waking up there are sharp pains in my middle joint when I try to curl my fingers. Fluid pressure buildup I am told. It seems to get slightly better some days.. then spread slightly to other fingers on other days. I'll get to a doctor to ask them about it soon, but in the meantime I decided to do a search on Google Groups to see what I could find.

I then naively searched for:
"middle finger" "sharp pain" morning stiff
Any guesses what the common theme containing all my search terms was? heh.

I have been having the same sore finger syndrome for the last few days, too. Sometimes, it would spread to my toes. I discarded it as an effect of the unusual cold weather that prevailed last week. So, please me know if you find anything interesting about this. Thanks.

My symptoms have been around for about 2 months now... it doesn't seem to get any worse but one never knows. I've not had it in my toes. If you find out anything as well, please post back.

Have you considered RSI? I got concerned when typing became difficult. Since then, I do regular stretching exercises and I force myself to regulate my typing speed. It takes some determination at first, but once you get into it, you'll enjoy it.

It is possible it is RSI related. What is strange though is after the initial soreness.. and sharp pains during the morning flexings.. I never have problems or pains in the slightest during the day. I have a feeling it is something to do with my mouse location possibly.. I don't know. Still experimenting. Something to do with how I am straining my wrist.. or shoulder.. or lower back.

I am a moderate computer user. I am not interseted in games too much, but recently got hooked on Dynomite. I have stopped playing, but still wake up with pains in my right hand. It hurts to make a fist. But after that it doesn't hurt the rest of the day. I think it is becuase my elbow isn't supported very well. Any suggestions? Doctor visit? Thank you.
